Skegness in the Heat: Getting Around Without Melting
When the sun comes out in Skegness, the place changes fast.
The beach fills up. The seafront gets busy. Families head for Fantasy Island, Butlin’s, the caravan parks, the pubs, the arcades and the fish and chips. It is great for the town, but getting around in the heat is not always fun.
Walking from the caravan park to the seafront sounds easy until you have kids, bags, shopping, mobility issues, a tired dog or someone in the group who has had enough of the sun.
That is where a local taxi helps.
Mad Cow Cabs covers Skegness, Ingoldmells, Chapel St Leonards and nearby villages. We also cover popular places like Butlin’s Skegness, Fantasy Island, Southview, North Shore, Coastfields, Golden Palm, The Chase, The Grange and Haven.
If you are heading out in hot weather, a bit of planning helps.
Book earlier if you can. Hot days get busy quickly, especially around tea time and later in the evening.
Keep water with you. Sounds obvious, but plenty of people forget it.
Do not leave pets waiting in hot cars. If your dog is travelling with you, tell us when you book. We are pet friendly.
If someone in your group needs wheelchair access, tell us before the journey so we can make sure everything is right.
If you are going to the airport, a holiday park, a show, a meal out or the train station, send the details and ask for a quote first.
Skegness is brilliant in the sun, but nobody wants to start or end the day stressed, overheated or stuck waiting around.
